Light in your Whole Body
““No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, that those who come in may see the light. The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness. Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness. If therefore your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining gives you light.”” (Luke 11:33-36 WEB)
Your eyes are like lamps and your body is like a room.
In a modern context, imagine that your eyes are like a ceiling light that you can switch on.
When you watch, read, and look at good things, you are allowing light to fill your body.
On the other hand, when you keep focusing on negative materials that produce fear, stress, worry, or any such thing, your body will be full of darkness.
The effect of such things is that you will feel lethargic, depressed, weak, and even experience mental or physical ailments (such as headaches).
When your body is filled with darkness, it means that you will experience death related effects like sickness, aging, ugliness, and even physical death.
The flip side is also true: if you focus on good things, like on God’s word and on Jesus, you will experience the benefits of light in your body: healing, health, youth renewal, added beauty, and long life.
If you want to stop physical aging in its tracks, you must receive a daily infusion of life. Feed on God’s word every day—even a little bit is good. Meditate on a piece of Scripture and ask the Holy Spirit to open your understanding to it. Ask Him to show you revelations about Jesus in the Word, and you will be transformed as you behold Him.
“My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to their whole body. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life.” (Proverbs 4:20-23 WEB)
God’s word is light and life to your whole body. What you receive through your eyes and ears will reach your heart if you accept it. Guard your heart—it contains your belief system, which affects what you do and experience in life.
Receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ with gladness. You will be strengthened from the inside-out!
